The Cannes Film Festival, the largest film festival in the world, could this year be postponed in the summer compared to its usual date in May due to the COVVI 19 crisis, the organizers said on Wednesday.
The festival, scheduled for May 11 to 22, “will certainly take place in 2021,” a spokesperson told AFP, but could be postponed to a period between the end of June and the end of July.
The Cannes Film Festival was canceled last yearwhile rival European festivals in Berlin and Venice had taken place under strict health restrictions.
The organizers still need a certain time “to assess the situation at the start of the year” before making a decision, said the Cannes spokesperson.
