Cannes 2024 – Palmarks of a certain look selection
Celebrating a discovery cinema, the mission of a certain look is to bring out new trends, new paths and new cinema countries. The 2024 selection offered 18 feature films, including 8 first films which also contribute for the gold camera. When the Light Breaks of Rúnar rúnarsson was projected at the opening this year.
Chaired by the actor, director, screenwriter and Canadian producer Xavier Dolanthe jury is made up of the Franco-Senegalese screenwriter and director Maïmouna Doucouréfrom the director, screenwriter and Moroccan producer Asmae El Moudirof the German-Luxembourg actress Vicky Kriepsand film critic, American director and writer Todd McCarthy.
Before announcing the record, Xavier Dolan delivered a speech, in which he asked for an immediate cease-fire in Palestine.
