An invitation to dream by Slim Gomri

Slim Gomri gives a particular style to his photographs. By his large plans of view, while integrating fragments, he seeks above all to provoke emotion. Through a photo-collage exhibition, entitled “Analogies”, he presents his work.

It was at the Maison des Arts du Belvedere, from April 18 and until April 28, that the artist, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the Protection of Heritage, exhibits. “In tribute to Jalel Ben Abdallah”
Although it has been used for a long time, this technique practiced by the artist is a “means of expression” by which he seeks to provoke emotion in those who look.

Inspired by the Tunisian painter Jalel Ben Abdallah, Slim Gomri tries to “reconstruct his atmosphere” by adding his personal touch.

In addition, the artist’s first photomontage is called “in tribute to Jalel Ben Abdallah”, a work in which he salutes the talent of the Tunisian painter. This first promising test allowed Slim Gomri to venture into its “Analogies” series.

Invitation to dreams
The artist’s technique is specific to him, he gives a style to his photographs by his large view plans, while integrating fragments by the work, coming from the Bardo museum or earthenware tiles of “the house of our grandparents”.
(Pull_quot_Center) The concept is that each time we have like a band that reminds us of a experience, a universal heritage with a view that invites us to dream. (/Pull_quot_center)
This Tunisian heritage is essential for Slim Gomri, it is a way to “return to our memories”.
A second life at La Marsa
Also recognized for his “second life” sheet sculptures (2013), the Tunisian artist has a current project, who will see the light of day in a few months. A whole facade of a residential building in Marsa will become “a monumental work” in metal.
