Entitled “After the Last Sky”, the new Anouar Brahem album will release on March 7.

The new Opus of Anouar Brahem has a title inspired by a poem by Mahmoud Toutiche. It is a verse of this Palestinian poet who is at the origin of this title: “where the birds will fly after the last sky”.

Thus the album is called “After the Last Sky” and should be distributed from March 7.

For this new album, Anouar Brahem will be accompanied by bassist Dave Holland who has been of all musical adventures with Brahem, since the now distant “Thimar”. The pianist Django Bates will also be there while the novelty lies in the participation of the cellist Anja Lechner who completes the quartet.

Immediately after its release, “After the Last Sky” will start a European tour. The album produced by Manfred Eicher will be presented to the French and German public with in particular stages at the Philharmonie in Paris and Berlin. The quartet will also be at the Jazz Off Beat festival in Basel in Switzerland. Ten dates are scheduled from April 18 to May 3 with other passages in Brussels, Antwerp, Hamburg, Munich, Lyon and Utrecht in the Netherlands.

Note that the last Tunisian performance of the Oudist dates back to July 2024 at the Dougga International Festival.
