The first international feminist art festival in Tunisia took place this Sunday, May 17 at the Mad’Art Center in Carthage. Organized by the Chouftouhonna association, it allowed women Tunisian artists and around the world to express themselves freely throughout a day.
Nearly 70 artists were represented during this festival. From Tunisia and elsewhere, the participants were able to express themselves freely in the face of an enthusiastic audience.
All art forms
Music, plastic art, photographs, reading texts, slam, all art forms were present during this first festival. International artists were not all present for lack of means, but each participation was taken into account and shared with the public.

Many people came to attend this festival, to discover all artistic projects, which allowed a real success for this first edition.
The winners
The jury, composed of Amira Chebli, Leila Baccouche, Deena Abdelwahed, Ester Martin Bergsmark and Lobna Noomane, appointed the four winners of the festival:

1st prize: Majdal Nejm, Palestinian singer
2nd price: Emna El Machat, read a text entitled “Because you are a girl”
Public price: Safa Borgi & Imen Mourli made a tag by doing a slam at the same time
Diaspora Prize: Wafa Ben Romdhane, for one of his photos

The day ended with the film of the member of the jury Ester Martin Bergsmark entitled “Something Must Break” and which recounts the life of a transsexual.

A second edition of the festival is expected to take place next year.
