The steering committee of the 36th session of the International Film Festival Amateur of Kélibia (FIFAK), which will be held from August 19 to 26, 2023, held a press conference, yesterday Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the Cité de la Culture Chedly Klibi, in Tunis, to present the main lines of this new edition and the inventory of this international event which is in front of many particularly financial difficulties.

The opening will be done with the screening of the Spanish film “The visit of a secret garden”, and in total it is 260 films that have been selected, including 49 films which will compete in international competition, including 6 Tunisian films, 26 feature films, 10 documentaries, 9 animated films and 4 experimental films. These films represent 29 countries of the continents of Africa, Europe and Latin America.
As for the national competition, it includes 28 films, divided between 13 feature films, 12 documentaries, an animated film and two experimental films.
An evening will also be devoted to Palestinian cinema, in addition to the platform recently created for the benefit of all amateurs and moviegoers and which aims in particular to document the various works produced by active directors within the FTCA (Tunisian Federation of Amateur filmmakers) and to make it accessible to them via www.cineftca.com
About the prizes to be awarded to the winning films of the international competition, the “Golden Faucon”, it will not be “rewarded” in foreign currency, requiring fairly complicated formalities. But in addition to this prize, others will be awarded to the best narrative film, the best documentary film and the best animated or experimental film.
For the national competition, prices will be awarded for the first prize (2,000 dinars), the jury prize (1,800 dinars), the best independent amateur film (1,500 dinars) and the best film in the Schools (1,500 dinars).
As for the photographic and scenario competition, the prizes will be 300 dinars, for everyone, while the best exhibition prize will be awarded 500 dinars.
