A project to improve access to drinking water was launched in the region of Ouled Nasrallah, at the foot of Mount Chaambi, in the governorate of Kasserine. Funded by the African Development Bank, it aims to strengthen the water supply for the benefit of residents and a school in the area.

Work to rehabilitate the drinking water network recently started in the locality of Ouled Nasrallah, under the Foussana delegation. Located on the slope of Mount Chaambi, this mountainous area has for several years faced difficulties in accessing basic services, particularly drinking water.

200 families and a school affected

The project plans to connect around 200 families to the public drinking water network. It also includes the water supply to the Ouled Nasrallah primary school, located at the foot of Mount Chaambi, in order to improve teaching and school life conditions in this rural region.

The works include the construction of water tanks with a capacity of 50 cubic meters each, as well as the extension and modernization of pipelines. These infrastructures aim to guarantee a more regular and reliable distribution of drinking water to the inhabitants of the area.

A project financed by the ADB

Carried out under the supervision of the rural engineering unit of the regional agricultural development commission, the project is financed by the African Development Bank. According to available data, the work should be completed and the network put into operation by the end of 2026.
