A delegation from China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. was received by FIPA-Tunisia to take stock of current projects and examine new investment opportunities. The discussions focused on several major projects, including the Tunis-Carthage airport, the deep water port of Enfidha and the Taparura project in Sfax.

Tunisian-Chinese cooperation in the field of infrastructure was at the center of a meeting held at the headquarters of the Agence FonciĂšre pour l’Investissement in Tunisia. The discussions brought together officials from FIPA-Tunisia and a delegation from China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Chinese public group SINOMACH, around structuring projects for the Tunisian economy.

Airport, port and Taparura on the agenda

The meeting made it possible to assess the progress of the Ben Arous Youth Sports Center project, carried out with the participation of CAMCE. It also paved the way for exploring new investments in large-scale infrastructure, considered priorities for the country’s development.

The discussions focused on several strategic issues, including the extension of the Tunis-Carthage international airport, the construction of the deep water port of Enfidha and the Taparura project in Sfax. These projects are presented as key levers for strengthening connectivity, logistics and the economic attractiveness of Tunisia.

A leading Chinese actor

The Director General of FIPA-Tunisia, Jalel Tebib, highlighted the importance of the investments already made by CAMCE and underlined the current dynamic aimed at accelerating the implementation of major infrastructure projects, particularly through public-private partnerships. He reaffirmed the desire of the Tunisian authorities to consolidate economic cooperation with their international partners.

China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. is a state-owned enterprise reporting directly to the Chinese government, specializing in international turnkey projects. Listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 2006, it is active in many countries and is a major player in engineering and infrastructure abroad.
