Tunisia: Tourism revenues on the rise

The tourism sector confirms, at the end of 2025, that it has definitively turned the page on the crisis. Indicators published by the Central Bank of Tunisia show tourism revenue reaching 7.886 billion dinars as of Thursday, December 22, an increase of 6.3% compared to the same period of 2024.

This financial dynamic is accompanied by a notable performance in terms of attendance. Since the start of 2025 and until December 22, the number of visitors who have chosen Tunisia as a destination has exceeded the objective initially set by the Ministry of Tourism, namely 11 million tourists.

A symbolic threshold which confirms that tourist activity is no longer in a phase of simple recovery, but in a logic of consolidated growth.

Algerian and Libyan tourists

As a reminder, the year 2024 ended with a total estimated at 10.264 million visitors. Local markets played a central role, with around 3.5 million Algerian tourists and 2.25 million Libyans. The sector’s revenues then stood at 7.494 billion dinars.

The comparison between the two years highlights a simultaneous improvement in volumes and revenues, reflecting a better valuation of the Tunisia destination. This development strengthens the place of tourism as one of the pillars of the national economy, in a context where the authorities are banking on the diversification of the offer, the lengthening of the season and the move upmarket to sustain this performance.
