From Thursday, December 25, motorists taking regional road no. 22 towards El Mourouj and Hammamet will have to adapt their route. The Ministry of Equipment and Housing has announced a temporary change in traffic targeting users coming from the capital via the Saint-Gobain bridge.
New traffic pattern at the La Cagna bridge
According to the official press release published on Wednesday, affected drivers are asked to turn left at the La Cagna bridge. They will then have to continue their journey on the main road, namely regional road no. 22, to reach their usual destinations towards the south of the capital.
This diversion is part of a temporary system put in place to secure the work zone and ensure the continuity of traffic during this sensitive stage of the construction site.
Extension works at the southern entrance to Tunis
The ministry specifies that this change corresponds to the second phase of the provisional traffic plan. It supports the completion of work to extend the southern entrance to the capital, a major infrastructure project intended to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion points on this strategic axis.
The authorities call on users to be vigilant, to respect the signs put in place and to anticipate their movements throughout the period of application of these measures.
