The governorate of Kef is preparing to take a new step in strengthening its industrial fabric. A large-scale industrial zone is being prepared in the Sers delegation, to the east of the region, with work expected to begin before the end of next year.
A new industrial center is in the making in the governorate of Kef. The authorities are planning the development of an industrial zone in the Sers delegation in order to stimulate investment and local economic activity. The project is currently at the technical studies stage, awaiting the launch of construction procedures.
Technical studies in progress and announced schedule
According to the general director of the Industrial Land Agency, Kais Mejri, a design office was mandated to develop the different components of the project. Approval of the call for tenders relating to the development works is expected around June 2026.
Once this step has been completed, the actual start of the construction site is planned before the end of the following year, thus marking the entry of the project into its operational phase.
A major industrial hub for the region
These announcements were made on the sidelines of the regional day dedicated to supporting private investment, organized at the headquarters of the Kef governorate. The meeting was held in the presence of several regional managers, representatives of local structures and economic players, highlighting the strategic role of this project in territorial development.
The future industrial zone of Sers is part of a long-term vision. The Industrial Land Agency had already validated, in June 2020, the detailed development plan for the site. The project will cover an area of 80 hectares, making this area the most important industrial and development hub planned in the Kef governorate.
Ultimately, this infrastructure is expected to attract new investments, create jobs and contribute to regional economic dynamics.
