The National Institute of Meteorology (INM) published this Sunday, December 21, 2025, the record of precipitation recorded over the last 24 hours, reporting significant accumulations in several regions in the north and center-east of the country.
The wettest regions
The heaviest rains were recorded in Jemmel (Monastir) with 25 mm, followed by Beni Khiar and Bou Argoub (Nabeul) with 22 mm each. These precipitations confirm notable rainfall activity in the coastal and inland areas of the north and center-east.
Faced with these weather conditions, the INM reiterated the need to adopt cautious driving on roads, which are likely to be slippery or temporarily flooded. Motorists are urged to reduce their speed, increase the safety distance and avoid areas at risk of water accumulation.
Climatic context
These rains come against a backdrop of frequent winter disturbances in the country, mainly affecting the north and the center-east, while the south remains relatively spared. The INM continues to monitor the weather and regularly publish alerts in the event of adverse weather conditions.
