The Tunisian automotive components sector is continuing its strategy of international visibility. A meeting between FIPA-Tunisia and SERNAUTO made it possible to highlight the country’s competitiveness levers and prepare future industrial cooperation initiatives.
In a context of reorganization of automobile value chains in Europe and the Mediterranean, Tunisia is strengthening its presence with major networks of equipment manufacturers. The exchanges undertaken with SERNAUTO are part of a dynamic of targeted promotion of the Tunisian industrial ecosystem.
An industrial ecosystem positioned on European value chains
During the meeting held in Spain, the FIPA-Tunisia representative presented to the SERNAUTO Markets Director the performance of the Tunisian automotive components industry, its export orientation and its strategic geographic positioning. SERNAUTO brings together companies representing nearly 85% of the sector’s turnover in Spain, a major automotive market on a European scale.
The discussions focused on Tunisia’s attractiveness factors, notably cost competitiveness, the availability of specialized skills and the existence of a structuring public-private dialogue.
This environment is presented as a lever to stimulate innovation, attract investments in research and development and support the low-carbon transition of the automotive industry.
Heading towards 2026 for targeted actions
The two parties agreed to maintain exchanges in order to prepare, from 2026, awareness-raising actions aimed at Spanish equipment manufacturers.
The organization of an information day dedicated to SERNAUTO members is among the initiatives planned to present the opportunities for establishment and partnership in Tunisia.
