Seven industrial and technological partnerships were concluded Thursday between Tunisian and Algerian companies, on the sidelines of the Tunisian-Algerian Economic Forum organized during the 23rd session of the Great Joint Commission.
The signings took place in the presence of several ministers from both countries, confirming a desire to accelerate bilateral economic integration.
Industry and technologies: structuring connections
The series of agreements opened with a partnership between ACS, a Tunisian company specializing in industrial equipment for textiles and clothing, and the Algerian company PEC, active in the manufacture of injection molds and technical plastics.
In the automotive sector, the Tunisian global group Coficab has entered into a collaboration with the Algerian company IdeNet, specializing in geolocation solutions, with a view to strengthening regional supply chains.
A third agreement was signed between Fondinor, a Tunisian player in industrial foundry, and the Algerian company Techno Cast, operating in industrial maintenance.
Added to this is technical cooperation between the Tunisian Association of Automotive Component Manufacturers (TAA) and the Algerian Institute for Standardization (IANOR), focused on the harmonization of standards.
Distribution, household appliances and digital solutions
In wholesale trade, the Tunisian company IGL Distribution has concluded an agreement with Tapidor, an Algerian manufacturer of rugs, carpets and synthetic turf.
The technology sector was represented by an agreement between the Tunisian group One Tech, specialized in electronic solutions, and the Algerian group Condor, heavyweight in household appliances.
The seventh agreement brought together Jomaa SA, a Tunisian company active in automotive equipment – tires, lubricants and tools – and the Algerian group Iris, which has several production units in electronics, electrical appliances and telecommunications.
A strong political and economic signal
During the ceremony, Hichem Elloumi, vice-president of UTICA, welcomed “agreements of great importance for the two countries”, emphasizing the potential for cooperation in areas that are still underexploited: tourism, industry, renewable energies, trade and investments.
The two governments are banking on these partnerships to boost trade and provide a lasting framework for Tunisian-Algerian economic rapprochement.
