The Al Jomhouri party announced on Thursday the arrest of Ahmed NĂ©jib Chebbi, president of the National Salvation Front, in execution of the final judgment pronounced against him in the so-called âplot against state securityâ case.
According to the TAP agency, Chebbi was arrested at his home to serve a twelve-year prison sentence, accompanied by five years of administrative supervision.
The decision follows the verdict rendered at dawn last Friday by the criminal chamber specializing in terrorism cases at the Tunis Court of Appeal. This confirmed the prison sentences against the accused in this case described as a âplot against state securityâ, including that targeting the founder of the Al Jomhouri party.
