MPs validated several additional articles of the 2026 finance bill, relating to social protection, energy transition and tax relief, while other proposals were rejected or withdrawn.
Among the articles adopted, the plenary ratified the creation of a social and financial assistance fund intended for orphans from families with limited income. This initiative aims to strengthen the social safety net and ensure lasting support for children in need.
Taxation and administrative facilitation
The deputies also validated:
- the cancellation of road taxes for the years 2022, 2023 and 2024;
- the reduction of customs duties on optical products;
- the creation of a transaction account dedicated to Tunisians residing in Tunisia, simplifying certain current financial operations.
These measures are part of an objective of tax relief and improved access to financial services for citizens.
Environmental justice and energy transition
The plenary approved the creation of a Fund for Environmental Justice and Sustainable Development, as well as the exemption of equipment used in renewable energies and energy management, when no equivalent exists in Tunisia.
These articles aim to support the energy transition and encourage investments in clean technologies.
Tenure of agents
Another article adopted concerns the tenure of accreditations agents with the Ministry of the Interior, strengthening administrative security and the stability of public functions in this sector.
During the previous session, 11 articles were adopted, 15 rejected, and 22 withdrawn. The debates will continue to examine the other additional proposals attached to the PLF 2026, with a view to a final vote on the entire project.
