Ligue 1 – 15th day: The CA and the ST put pressure on the EST

Between confirmations, jumps and the fight for survival, the championship has shifted into a new dynamic while the Esperance match remains to be played.

The top of the table is still tightening

Stade Tunisien hits hard: its large 4-0 victory against AS Gabès confirms its return to the forefront after an indecisive period, and allows it to come back to within one point of Espérance de Tunis… who have not yet played their match against US Ben Guerdane.

The African Club also signed a perfect operation by winning 1-0 in Béja. Three valuable points which consolidate their 2nd place with 31 units and maintain the pressure on Esperance.

CS Sfaxien achieves a good deal by beating Étoile du Sahel 1-0 in Sousse. The Sfaxians climb to 4th place (26 points) and return to the race for the top places, while the ESS continues to sink into the soft underbelly.

Monastir in ambush, Zarzis revives

The US Monastirienne continues to keep up the pace: 2-1 success on the pitch of AS Soliman and a solid 5th place with 26 points. A result which confirms the consistency of the Blues despite a complicated schedule.

In the south, ES Zarzis scored a clear 3-0 against CA Bizertin. A victory which allows it to reach 24 points and remain in the top 6, while accentuating the difficulties of a CAB now close to the red zone.

In Kairouan, ES Métlaoui won 1-0 and moved up to 7th place (23 points), confirming regular progress. The JSK is still sinking, still looking for recovery.

AS Marsa, for its part, snatched a 2-1 success against JS Omrane. An important victory which brings the team back to 9th position and removes – for the moment – the threat of a return to the fight for maintenance.

With its heavy 4-0 defeat, AS Gabès remains bottom with 9 points and a worrying goal difference (-14). Olympique de Béja, beaten by Club Africain, also remains under pressure with 11 points and a defense still in difficulty (-19).

The battle promises to be tough between Béja, Soliman, JSK and Gabès to avoid relegation.

  • ES Sahel – CS Sfaxien 0-1
  • O. Béja – Club Africain 0-1
  • Stade Tunisien – AS Gabès 4-0
  • AS Soliman – US Monastirienne 1-2
  • AS Marsa – JS Omrane 2-1
  • JS Kairouanaise – ES Métlaoui 0-1
  • ES Zarzis – CA Bizertin 3-0
  • ES Tunis – US Ben Guerdane
