The 4th criminal chamber of the court of first instance of Tunis decided, Friday, November 14, to postpone until December 5 the examination of the so-called “office of order” case targeting the president of the PDL, Abir Moussi, and the leader of the party, Meriem Sassi. The request comes from the defense, who wishes to prepare its arguments.
According to Me Nafaa Laâribi, member of the defense committee, this second adjournment aims to allow lawyers to contact their clients and consolidate their defenses. The first hearing had already been postponed, the court having asked the bar to appoint lawyers for Abir Moussi, who had handled her own defense until then.
Me Laâribi indicated that the 4th criminal chamber officially requested the appointment of two lawyers to guarantee the smooth running of the procedure. The president of the regional section of the National Order of Lawyers of Tunisia gave his approval, in accordance with the legal provisions governing legal assistance.
This decision aims to ensure that the accused benefits from a complete defense that meets the requirements of the criminal trial.
