Three successive attacks in the middle of a school tour
A restless late afternoon in Jendouba. Three buses from the regional transport company were targeted by stone throwing while they were taking students home. According to initial information collected, the attacks took place on three different routes, several kilometers from each other.
The first bus was hit on the road linking Jendouba to Traydia, near the milk collection center. The second was targeted in the locality of Kaâibiya, while it was covering the Fernana–Kaâibiya line. The third was attacked on the Oued Meliz–Hfaydhia axis.
No children or drivers were injured, but the buses suffered material damage described as “notable” by local sources.
Reactions and strengthening of security
The incidents, which occurred during the same back-to-school tour, immediately mobilized the regional authorities. An investigation has been opened to identify the perpetrators, while additional security measures must be put in place on the most exposed lines.
