The prospects for economic cooperation between Tunisia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) were at the heart of a meeting held Monday in Tunis between the Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, and an EBRD delegation led by Emily Keenan, advisor to the Bank’s Board of Directors.
Coordination of future programs
According to a press release from the Ministry of the Economy, the meeting made it possible to examine the development orientations and priorities for the coming period, with the aim of ensuring better coordination in the development of future cooperation programs.

This meeting is part of monitoring the progress of joint projects undertaken between Tunisia and the EBRD, particularly in the areas of investment, energy transition and support for the private sector.
Diversify cooperation
Minister Samir Abdelhafidh insisted on the need to strengthen financial and technical cooperation with the EBRD, while diversifying the areas of intervention. He stressed that these partnerships must align with the priorities of the 2026-2030 Development Plan, currently in preparation, and contribute to accelerating economic recovery, supporting structural reforms and promoting inclusive and sustainable growth.

For her part, Emily Keenan reaffirmed the EBRD’s commitment to continuing its support to Tunisia, by supporting economic reforms and investment projects that create added value and jobs.
