New twist in the so-called “plot against state security” affair. The criminal chamber specializing in terrorism cases at the Tunis Court of Appeal decided, this Monday, October 27, to postpone the appeal hearing until November 17, 2025.

Initially scheduled to be held this Monday, the hearing took place remotely, without the physical presence of the accused. After a brief session, the court finally decided to postpone the examination of file no. 1 until November 17, without specifying the reasons for the postponement.

The defense committee, which has been denouncing “violations of defense rights” for several weeks, reiterated its criticism of a procedure that it considers “opaque” and “politically motivated”.

The conspiracy against the State case involves several political figures and opposition figures, prosecuted for serious charges: conspiracy against the internal and external security of the State, membership in a terrorist group, financing of terrorism, money laundering, incitement to violence via social networks.

Defense lawyers claim that the case is based on “fabricated” elements and denounce judicial manipulation intended to neutralize the opposition.
