The closing ceremony of the 15th edition of the Orange Summer Challenge (OSC) was held this Wednesday at the Théâtre des Jeunes Créateurs at the Cité de la Culture. The event, organized by the Orange Digital Centers network in Africa and the Middle East, highlights young Tunisian talents engaged in technology and sustainable innovation.
Startup4Good: transforming ideas into concrete solutions
Placed under the theme “Startup4Good: sustainable solutions driven by the talents of tomorrow”, this edition brought together 25 interns supervising 4 project leaders, with the aim of converting innovative ideas into concrete technological solutions.
For three months, participants benefited from intensive coaching, provided by the Orange Developer Center, the FabLab Solidaire EL FabSpace Lac, as well as partners AWS, META, Dar Blockchain & The Hashgraph Association and UNDP. More than 50 training and mentoring sessions were provided on key themes such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing and financial management.
Four projects with strong environmental and societal impact
Young talents have developed innovative solutions in the environment, circular economy, agriculture and water management sectors:
- AlgaePool: local production of spirulina via modular units made from recycled containers.
- Valbio Composite Waste: transformation of plastic and agricultural waste into ecological granules and 3D filaments.
- Bean Back: revaluation of coffee grounds for uses in cosmetics, agriculture and the food industry.
- WEDTECT – DripIn: intelligent system based on AI and the cloud to detect water leaks and optimize the management of water resources.
More than 300 participants, from the academic, professional and media world, attended the presentations and voted live to elect the most convincing team.
Prizes to stimulate innovation and skills development
The winners of the 2025 edition were rewarded by Orange Tunisia:
- 1st prize – WEDTECT: 7000 DT
- 2nd prize – Bean Back: 5000 DT
- 3rd prize – AlgaePool: 3000 DT
- 4th prize – Valbio Composite Waste: 2000 DT
These teams will represent Tunisia during the OSC international final, alongside winners from 14 other countries from the Orange Digital Center network, with financial support and personalized support to realize their large-scale projects.
Orange Summer Challenge: a springboard for talents
Created in 2010, the Orange Summer Challenge is a summer internship program in the form of a competition, offering young participants the opportunity to develop their technical, entrepreneurial and soft skills, while providing technological solutions to societal issues.
