Leoni Tunisia, a major player in automotive wiring, is taking a bold step in its energy transition strategy: the establishment of a photovoltaic park covering its sites in Tunisia. Stated objective: reduce your electricity bill by 40%or nearly $9.1 million in annual savings.
The company has signed a partnership with Empower New Energy (Norway) and AR Solaire to deploy solar installations on its 10 strategic sites spread across Tunisian territory: Menzel Hayet, Kalâa Kebira, several sites in Mateur, and Messaâdine among others.
This photovoltaic program is estimated at $9.16 million. It will mobilize a power of 7.5 MWp, with an annual production of 12.4 MW, which would make it possible to offset a significant part of current electricity consumption.
This project is part of a logic of decarbonization, reduction of the carbon footprint and greater energy autonomy. The partners will also ensure the maintenance and operation of the installations for ten years.
According to the general director of Leoni Tunisia, this project is the result of a long study work (18 months), and marks an important step for the Tunisian industry in the field of renewable energies.
