The spokesperson for Tunisian Customs, Colonel Chokri Jabri, recalled this Friday, October 10 that October 31, 2025 constitutes the deadline for submitting regularization files for vehicles registered under the temporary admission regime (RS). Owners benefit from partial exemption from taxes and fines.
Reduced rate regularization until October 31
Tunisians who have had cars or motorcycles under the RS regime for at least two years can regularize their situation before October 31, 2025, said Colonel Chokri Jabri on National Radio. This exceptional measure allows you to pay only 30% of the total amount of taxes and customs duties normally required.
The date of December 31, 2025 marks the final deadline for the effective payment of these taxes. After this period, offenders are exposed to the loss of the benefits linked to this regularization procedure.
Exemption from customs fines
Colonel Jabri also indicated that October 31 is the deadline to benefit from exemption from fines linked to customs disputes.
For cases not involving the payment of duties and taxes (such as cases of smuggling or detention of goods without proof of origin), an amnesty is granted under the following conditions:
- 10% of the value of the goods actually seized.
- 20% of the value of the goods seized on a symbolic basis.
Requests for conciliation or amnesty can be submitted online via the official website of Tunisian Customs: services.douane.gov.tn.
