FIFA presented Tronda Thursday, the official 2026 World Cup balloon, the first edition organized by three co-host countries: United States, Mexico and Canada.
Designed by Adidas, an official supplier of the balloons since 1970, Tronda has the red, blue and green colors, symbolizing the unity of the three nations. The patterns also include emblematic symbols: maple leaves for Canada, the eagle for Mexico and the stars for the United States, as well as a triangle representing the unity of co-organizers.
A motion sensor chip
The ball benefits from deep seams for optimal stability in flight and relief icons improving adhesion, even in wet weather. A motion sensor chip will transmit data to the Var system, providing precise information on the movements of the ball.
The competition will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026 and will bring together 48 teams for the first time. The draw will take place in Washington on December 5.
