Sumud flotilla: 195 arrested activists, including 12 Tunisians

The Sumud flotilla, a humanitarian mission aimed at breaking the blockade of Gaza, was intercepted by Israeli forces. According to the most recent information communicated by the organization, 195 crew members from 45 different countries were arrested.

The confirmed nationalities of the prisoners are as follows:

  • Spanish: 30
  • Italians: 22
  • Turks: 21
  • Malaysians: 12
  • Tunisians: 12aboard the ship Deir Yassinincluding, according to Mosaique FM: Yassine Gaïdi, Jihad Ferjani, Ghassen Henchiri, Mazen Abed Ellawi, Nabil Chenoufi, Abdallah Messaoudi, Aziz Melliani, Nourddine Selouj, Wael Naouar, Sirine Gharairi, Mohieddine Mohamed Ali and Khalil Habibi.
  • Brazilians: 11
  • French: 10
  • Irish: 9
  • Algerians: 8
  • Americans: 7
  • Germans: 7
  • British: 6
  • Norwegians: 4
  • Swedish: 4
  • Moroccans, Jordanians, Polish, Mexicans, Portuguese: 3 each
  • Kuwaiti, Colombians, Swiss: 2 each
  • Other nationalities: 1 Everyone (Czechs, Mauritanians, Austrians, Bulgarians, Australians, Belgians, Danish, Bahrain, Dutch, Finnish, South African, Slovak)

The rest of the crew also includes participants from Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Turkey, the United States and the United Kingdom. Nearly 30 Tunisians, including journalists, activists and parliamentarians, participated in the convoy which brought together 532 activists out of fifty ships who left Spain, Italy and Tunisia.

Intercepted ships include Maria Cristina, Deir Yassin, Hoga, Spakter, Adara, Alma And Sirus. The flotilla indicates that 30 other ships continue to navigate to Gazaabout 85 kilometers from the coasts of the enclave.

The Flotilla Legal Committee denounced a “Clear violation of international law” And announced that it has activated all legal procedures in coordination with international organizations.

The fate of activists remains unknown, and the situation continues to arouse the concern of families and international humanitarian organizations.
