On the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Ali Nafti met on Friday the secretary general of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset. The discussion focused on the state of bilateral cooperation and the means of strengthening it, while respecting national sovereignty and mutual interest.
The exchanges made it possible to take stock of the support provided to Tunisia as part of the South V program. This covers several strategic aspects: the fight against corruption, cybersecurity, child protection, women’s rights and the promotion of good governance.
The Council of Europe salutes the regional role of Tunisia
Alain Berset praised the quality of current cooperation as well as the active participation of Tunisia in the works of the Council on the regional and international levels.
He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to support Tunisia in its reforms and to consolidate the partnership in the fields of common interest.
