The Ministry of Health and Tunisia Télécom formalized this Wednesday, September 10, 2025 a strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating the digitalization of health structures in Tunisia. During a working session chaired by the Minister of Health, Dr. Mustafa Farjani, and the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Tunisia Télécom Lassâad Ben Dhiab, the discussions focused on the concrete strengthening of the digital infrastructure of hospitals.
Among the priority axes announced:
- Improvement of connectivity : increase the speed and quality of the connection with the national health network.
- Hospital digital support : Promote digital hospital projects and telemedicine services.
- Health artificial intelligence : lay the foundations for cooperation to integrate AI solutions into the care service.
- Joint project monitoring : A mixed committee will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and coordination of initiatives.
Minister Farjani insisted on the importance of quickly launching these projects in order to prepare the sector for a complete digital transformation, which will make it possible to offer more intelligent and accessible services to citizens.
This alliance between the Ministry and Tunisie Telecom seems to mark a decisive step towards the modernization of the Tunisian health system. Improving connectivity and the development of telemedicine respond to a double issue: reducing regional disparities in access to care and optimizing time and quality of services for patients. The integration of artificial intelligence could ultimately transform medical care, by allowing more precise monitoring and anticipation of health needs.
However, the success of this transition will depend on the speed of implementation and the training of health professionals in these digital tools. The creation of a common monitoring committee testifies to a rigorous willingness to pilot, but it will also be necessary to ensure the safety of medical data and the adhesion of citizens to these new digital practices.
