Israeli air strikes targeted on Wednesday September 10, 2025 the Yemeni Sanaa capital, controlled by the Houthi rebels. According to witnesses, powerful explosions have shaken the city.
The Al-Massirah television channel, close to the Houthis, denounced an “Israeli attack on the capital, Sanaa”, adding that several strikes took place during the day. An AFP journalist on the spot confirmed that she had heard strong explosions in the city.
The Israeli army has claimed the operation, claiming to have targeted “military targets” belonging to the Houthi rebels. No immediate information has been given on possible victims or material damage.
The Houthis, supported by Iran, have controlled Sanaa and a large part of northern Yemen since 2014. They have been engaged in a prolonged conflict against the Yemeni government. In recent years, the Houthis have claimed attacks on Israel, notably by drones and missiles, in solidarity with Palestinian Hamas.
This strike comes as the war in Gaza continues to destabilize the whole of the Middle East, multiplying the indirect confrontation fronts between Israel and its regional opponents.
