Sidi Ahmed Chérif is a holy character from East in the sixteenth century and buried in La Goulette in a mausoleum which is at the entrance to the city. Each year, celebrations are welcomed by this sanctuary at the beginning of September.
This year, the traditional Ziara de Sidi Chérif will take place from September 10 to 12 at the Goulettois mausoleum. The long -awaited Kharja des Aissaouias will start the rituals today, Wednesday September 10 at 6 p.m. in front of the Municipality of La Goulette.
According to custom, it is at La Goulette, at the Zaouia of Sidi Ahmed Chérif, that the Kharja (processions) cycle of summer ends. After the Ariana, Tunis and Sidi Bou Said, it is the turn of the Goulettois mausoleum to organize its Ziara (visit), the last of the summer.
The Kharja des Aissaouias de la Marsa, a spiritual evening by Jamaat Sidi Belhassen Chedli and the Tijania (reserved for women) are the main elements of this annual celebration. They will take place respectively on September 11 and 12.
