In the morning of Tuesday, September 9, 2025, faithful discovered at least five pig heads deposited in front of several mosques of the Parisian agglomeration. The facts concern in particular the 15th, 18th and 20th arrondissements of Paris, as well as Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) and Montrouge (Hauts-de-Seine).
Open survey
According to a police source quoted by Le Figaro, discoveries are gradually made at the opening of places of worship. An “Macron” inscription was noted on one of the abandoned heads.
The Paris police prefect, Laurent Nuñez, announced on X the immediate opening of an investigation, ensuring that “everything (was) implemented to find the authors of these abject acts”.
Convictions
The convictions multiplied in the morning. Julien Charles, prefect of Seine-Saint-Denis, denounced “an abject act” and expressed his support for the Muslim community in Montreuil.
The Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, spoke of “unfathomable cowardice” and “unbearable provocations”. He reaffirmed that “attacking places of worship is unacceptable” and hoped that the authors will be quickly identified.
The profanations of places of worship are regularly condemned in France, whatever the reason or the target. Last April, several Muslim and Jewish cemeteries had already been degraded. French legislation severely punishes attacks on freedom of worship and incentives for religious hatred.
