The Interior Ministry denied this Tuesday, September 9, any drone attack on Tuesday, September 9, aimed at a boat in the international flotilla for Gaza, moored at the port of Sidi Bou Saïd. According to the official version, the flames that damaged the ship would be due to “an accidental fire start, probably caused by a cigarette”.

The ship in question, beating Portuguese pavilion and baptized Family Boathas been hit by fire overnight Monday to Tuesday. No injuries were recorded among the six crew members.

However, despite the official explanations, videos widely relayed on social networks show a flaming light object descending from the sky before reaching the boat, fueling suspicions of an external attack. These images, shared thousands of times, continue to sow doubt and fuel online debates.

There Global Sumud FlatillaInternational initiative bringing together activists from 44 countries and aimed at symbolically breaking the blockade of Gaza, quickly denounced “a targeted attack”. For its part, Israel, suspected by some activists to be behind the incident, has not reacted for the moment.

On the quay of Sidi Bou Saïd, dozens of activists and sympathizers gathered as a sign of solidarity, brandishing Palestinian flags and calling to continue the mission despite the incident.

Between official version and militant testimonies, the exact origin of the disaster remains surrounded by gray areas.
