As the MOULED approaches, the National Food Safety Instance (INSSPA) has announced the seizure of 15 tonnes of healthy foodstuffs. Dry fruits, Zgougou, cereals and drinks were among the products withdrawn from the market during a large control campaign carried out nationally since August 2025.

Reinforced checks and analyzes

The INSSPA indicated that it has conducted 1205 official control operations and proceeds to levy 86 samples analyzed in the laboratory to detect the presence of fungal toxins (aflatoxins), as well as other contaminants and prohibited additives.

In total, 15 tonnes of unfit products have been entered, including 2.5 tonnes of dried fruit, 548 kg of Zgougou, 6.5 tonnes of cereals, 172 kg of confectionery, 5081 liters of juice and carbonated drinks, 160 kg of decorative confectionery and 35 kg of various ingredients.

Sanctions and closings

Following the offenses noted, 61 minutes were drawn up and 7 stores specializing in the sale of confectionery and food products were closed for non-compliance with health standards.

The INSSPA recalled its commitment to protecting the health of citizens and strengthening control operations in all regions. This year, nearly 200 teams were mobilized to inspect the places of production, processing, storage and wholesale and retail.
