Tunisian customs announced, this Monday, September 1, 2025, a significant increase in results in the fight against traffic and smuggling. More than 168,000 narcotics tablets, 154 kg of cannabis and 58 kg of cocaine were seized during the first seven months of the year.
Customs spokesperson, General Chokri Jebri, revealed, on the Mosaique FM that the customs services have multiplied the operations to combat smuggling since January.
“In figures, 168,000 narcotics tablets, 154 kg of cannabis and 58 kg of cocaine, were seized during the first seven months of the year.”
More than 9,600 established minutes
Still according to Jebri, the results are clearly increasing compared to 2024 with 9,692 established minutes and 1027 descents and controls carried out in suspicious shops, warehouses and deposits.
The total value of the property seized exceeds 138 million dinars, not to mention the fictitious seizures or the confiscated means of transport.
An international operation thwarted to La Goulette
Latest shine: the Central Anti -Drogue Brigade of the National Guard of Ben Arous, in coordination with customs, defeated an international traffic attempt by the port of La Goulette.
Assessment of the operation: 370,000 Ecstasy tablets seized, 12 kg of cocaine hidden in a car arrived from Europe, 550,000 liquid dinars, 13 vehicles and confiscated motorcycles, 14 suspects arrested and 15 others wanted.
The Tunis 1 prosecution ordered the opening of judicial information and the placement in detention of all suspects.
