The ninth correctional chamber of the Tunis court of first instance condemned, in absentia, the former deputy for the dissolved parliament, Seifeddine Makhlouf, one year in prison with immediate execution.
In addition, the same body pronounced a sentence of six months in prison against the ex-deputy Sahbi Smara, judged in his presence.
A former deputy for the Ennahdha movement, for its part, received three months in prison.
The case relates to the assault of the former deputy and president of the Destourien Libre Party (PDL), ABIR Moussi, which occurred in 2021 within the siege of the Assembly of People’s Representatives.
