On Friday March 28, 2025, the Minister of Transport, Rachid Amri, visited the Tunisair Air Plans Maintenance Center, located at Tunis-Carthage International Airport.
The purpose of this inspection was to ensure the proper functioning of maintenance workshops and guarantee the quality of the air services provided by the national company.
During this visit, AMRI presented several recommendations intended to strengthen the efficiency of maintenance operations and to improve the regularity of flights.
Among the measures taken, we note:
The acceleration of maintenance operations: The Minister insisted on the importance of mobilizing all the human and logistical resources necessary to guarantee the smooth running of repairs and technical inspections on the Tunisair fleet.
The implementation of an organizational plan: a detailed plan must be submitted at the end of next week. This document will specify the various interventions to be carried out, the needs in terms of maintenance and the periods of realization, in order to guarantee the continuous availability of the 14 planes of the fleet.
The creation of dedicated teams: specialized technical teams will be set up to ensure regular monitoring of maintenance operations. If necessary, the staff of the MONASTR-HABIB BOURGUIBA Airport Maintenance Center may be mobilized as a reinforcement.
Financial support for spare parts: measures will be set up to guarantee the funding necessary for the acquisition of essential spare parts, thus making it possible to maintain the fleet in the best conditions.
