The details of the official program of Tunisian participation in the Universal Exhibition “Osaka 2025” were unveiled this Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Maison de l’Exporteur.
In a declaration in Mosaic, the president and chief executive officer of the export promotion center, Mourad Ben Houssein, said that the Tunisian pavilion will be located in the “Saving Lives” space on an area of 300 square meters.
Tunisian participation will take place from April 13 to October 13, 2025 and will include days of promotion of Tunisian tourism and culture, as well as the celebration of the national day of Tunisia on August 13.
Meetings focused on the participation of Tunisia and the creation of partnership and investment opportunities will take place on April 18, in addition to a week dedicated to tourism and culture under the theme “Partnership in the field of innovation, science and technology” in order to highlight Tunisia as a primary tourist and cultural destination.
The participation program will focus on key themes such as water, the environment, clean energies, nutrition and sustainable development, in particular in water management, thermal medicine and the promotion of Tunisian culinary heritage. Mourad Ben Houssein also underlined several Tunisian experiences inspired by Japanese models, including the initiative “A product for each village” (Ovop).
He added that Tunisia has bilateral and tripartite cooperation relationships with Japan to access the African market. The Tunisian pavilion was designed under the supervision of several Tunisian stakeholders and experts, including the order of architects.
The project selected, entitled “Rain” (resonance), was presented by the Tunisian architect Mourad Zaghlami in collaboration with the Tunisian architect residing in Japan, Mariem Ben Rayana. Their conception offers a pavilion which will not only be an exhibition, but a real invitation to discover the cultural and civilizational wealth of Tunisia through an immersive experience turned towards the future.
