During the ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the disappearance of the leader Habib Bourguiba, this Sunday, April 6, 2025, the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, said with firmness that Tunisia has never concluded any agreements concerning the repatriation of its nationals from the European space.
In a speech on this occasion, Saïed recalled that two agreements had been signed in 2008 and 2011, but only by governments which had given in to pressure from foreign actors.
He then denounced those who claim that such an agreement exists, qualifying these words as “memory loss” and stressing that it is absurd to try to deceive the Tunisian people.
