During the World Forum for Local Production, organized by the World Health Organization in Abu Dhabi from April 7 to 9, 2025, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates crossed a new course in their health cooperation.
During a bilateral meeting, the Tunisian Minister of Health, Dr. Mustapha Ferjani, and his counterpart Emirati, Dr. Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammed Al Owais, reaffirmed their common desire to strengthen the links between their two countries, especially in the fields of the pharmaceutical industries, the production of vaccines and advanced medical technologies.
The two parties praised the quality of the historical relations which unite Tunis and Abu Dhabi, while expressing their ambition to build a more strategic cooperation and oriented towards the future.
Artificial intelligence applied to health and genomic medicine are among the main areas of collaboration.
Better still, Minister Emirati expressed the interest of his country to invest directly in the health sector in Tunisia, highlighting the recognized skills of Tunisian medical and paramedical staff.
An agreement was concluded to get into the operational phase quickly: development of common programs, organization of field visits and definition of concrete projects to generate visible spinoffs at the service of the two nations health systems.
