Tunisia obtained second place in the international competition Mario Solinas 2025, organized by the International Oleicole Council (COI). This competition, focused on the quality of olive oil, brought together 130 extra virgin olive oils from 11 countries, including Algeria, China, Spain and Tunisia.
The price, which distinguishes the best olive oils in terms of organoleptic characteristics, saw Spain shine with 25 prices out of 32. Tunisia follows closely, in front of countries like Italy and Portugal.
The oils have been evaluated by an international jury made up of nine experts, who noted the olfactory, taste and retronasal oils of oils, taking into account their harmony and complexity.
This competition, which honors the memory of Dr. Mario Solinas, Italian chemist, aims to encourage the production of high -quality olive oils and to make consumers aware of these unique flavors. The award ceremony will take place on May 22 in Madrid.
