The National Institute of Meteorology (INM) assured, this Thursday, April 10, 2025, that the seismic tremors recently recorded in the Meknassi region, under the governorate of Sidi Bouzid, are low to medium intensity.

They are qualified as normal and have no danger for the population or for goods.

In a press release published today, the INM said that this type of seismic activity is considered a natural phenomenon running in these areas and that it generally causes neither material damage nor human losses.

The seismic surveillance stations under the Institute thus recorded, Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 8:56 p.m. (local time), a shock of a magnitude of 4.3 degrees on the Richter scale in the Meknassi region.

The shock has been felt by several inhabitants of the locality, without it providing damage.
The INM has also recalled that its specialized services provide permanent monitoring of seismic activity throughout Tunisian territory, 24 hours a day, in order to provide real -time information to the general public and the authorities concerned.
