The Ministry of the Interior announced this Thursday that in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, a service for the acquisition of the electronic travel stamp is now available online on the site: https://e.timbres.finances.gov.tn.
In a press release, the ministry said that this new procedure has entered into force since August 4, on an experimental basis, for travelers passing through Tunis-Carthage airport, in parallel with the use of the physical travel stamp.
This initiative is part of the digitalization of administrative services and the simplification of approaches for citizens.
The electronic travel stamp can be set by means of a bank or postal card and remains valid for a period of six months. It is automatically taken into account when performing travel formalities, without the need to present proof of purchase.
The ministry finally indicated that this service will be gradually generalized to all the country’s border crossing points, before the total suppression of the material travel stamp from April 1, 2026.
