A joint patrol bringing together units of the Tunis National Guard and a central unit of the Information and Investigation Department managed to dismantle a criminal network operating in the sale of electronic telecommunications equipment, operated in fraud operations during national exams.
The operation, carried out in the districts of Khaznadar and Bab Bhar, ended in the arrest of two individuals, one of which is of foreign nationality. During the intervention, the police seized 76 sophisticated electronic communication devices, 16 miniature headphones, 1,020 small batteries, as well as a sum of money in Tunisian dinars and in foreign currencies.
According to a statement published on Saturday evening by the General Directorate of the National Guard, the prosecution ordered the police ‘police suspects for the detention of objects of dubious origin, pending the finalization of the investigation and the taking of the necessary judicial measures.
The authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to fight firmly against all forms of fraud and corruption, in particular during the exams, in order to guarantee their smooth running in transparency and equity. The National Guard also called on citizens to immediately report any suspicious behavior or likely to infringe the integrity of exams, via number 71 860 135.
