The Ministry of Economy and Planning announced, in a statement published on its official Facebook page, the adoption of 30 joint projects within the framework of the Tunisia-Italy cross-border cooperation program.
This decision was made after a meeting of the mixed monitoring committee (CMS), recently held in Tunis, in the presence of the Tunisian and Italian delegations, as well as representatives of the European Commission and the Sicily Region, program manager.
These projects, selected for funding, will benefit from European Union grants ranging from 800,000 to 1.2 million euros. They mobilize a total of 148 partner structures, including 72 Tunisian – among which 9 assure a role of main partner – and 76 Italian, with 21 leaders.
Selected initiatives cover strategic fields such as research and innovation, support for small and medium -sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups, environmental protection, renewable energies, water resources management, health, as well as the inclusion of young people and women, without forgetting local governance.
This program aims to strengthen cooperation between the two shores of the Mediterranean and to support projects carrying sustainable development, by emphasizing the local impact and the synergies between public and private actors.
