The National Institute of Meteorology (INM) provides for the appearance of thunderstorm cells on Thursday afternoon in the north and the center of the country, accompanied by sometimes abundant rains and local hail falls. Precipitation will also remain on Friday in the same regions.
Regions concerned and intensity of precipitation
According to the INM, the rains will be temporary but intense, particularly on the following governorates: the Kef, Siliana, Zaghouan, Kasserine, Sidi Bouzid, Kairouan, and locally the Sahel.
The quantities of precipitation expected will vary between 30 and 50 mm. Hailled falls are also planned in certain sectors.
Forecasts for Friday
The thunderstorm rains will continue on Friday, still touching the north and the center, with temporarily abundant precipitation in the afternoon on the Kef, Kasserine, Siliana, Kairouan and Zaghouan. Halm phenomena will remain possible locally.
During thunderstorms, the wind will be strong, with gusts up to 80 km/h. In the south, sand phenomena are to be expected.
