On the occasion of the holding in Tunis of the sixth session of the Tunisian-Egyptian commercial and industrial committee, the head of the Sarra government Zaafrani Zenzri received, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the Egyptian minister of investment and foreign trade, Hassan El Khatib.
This interview was held on the sidelines of the sixth session of the Tuniso-Egyptian commercial and industrial committee, organized on April 15 and 16, 2025 in Tunis.
This diplomatic meeting is part of the strengthening of bilateral relations between Tunisia and Egypt, carried by the common will of the presidents Kaïs Saïed and Abdel Fattah al-Sissi. Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri underlined the solidity of the fraternal links uniting the two countries and praised the particular dynamics that Tuniso-Egyptian relations have known in recent years.
The government’s heading has called for rigorous preparation for the next bilateral deadlines, in particular the 18th session of the Tunisian-Egyptian High Commission, provided for in Cairo. It insisted on the need to enhance the results obtained during the previous session, which was held in Tunis in May 2022, and to identify concrete solutions to remove the obstacles hampering trade between the two countries.
For their part, the two parties reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing a close economic cooperation, based on a common vision and a mutually advantageous partnership. They also mentioned the prospects offered by African markets, where Tunisia and Egypt can play a key role thanks to their comparative advantages.
