Swiss support of 210 million dinars to support the economy

As part of a new cooperation program, Switzerland has just announced financial support of 60 million Swiss francs (around 210 million dinars) in favor of Tunisia for the period 2025-2028. The objective is to promote inclusive growth and reduce regional inequalities.

Tunisia will be able to count on the renewed support of Switzerland to strengthen its economic and social development. Through this substantial funding, Berne reaffirms his commitment alongside Tunis in a strategic partnership that has lasted for more than a decade.

This new bilateral cooperation program is a continuation of the Swiss action started after the 2011 revolution. The previous cycle (2021-2024) had already made it possible to lay the foundations for stability, good governance and sustainable development. With a total investment of 200 MD, nearly 60 projects were carried out, allowing the creation of 30,000 jobs.

For the period 2025-2028, Switzerland intends to go further, with an envelope of 60 million Swiss francs which aims to strengthen key sectors of the Tunisian economy and to improve living conditions, especially in the most vulnerable regions.

This funding will be oriented towards several strategic axes such as support for the local economy, vocational training, strengthening governance (support for local institutions and decentralization), and the reduction of regional inequalities.

Beyond financial support, this program reflects a shared vision between the two countries to promote more equitable, sustainable and resilient growth. Tuniso-Suisse cooperation aims to be a lever for transformation, at the service of economic and social stability.

With this new partnership phase, Switzerland reaffirms its role as a strategic ally in supporting Tunisian reforms, at a time when the country seeks to relaunch its economy while preserving its social cohesion.
