The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians abroad announced today the repatriation of three Tunisian citizens, victims of forced detention in Myanmar. This operation took place successfully following close coordination between the services of the ministry and the Tunisia Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The three nationals were transferred from Myanmar to Thailand by land, before being evacuated via Bangkok International Airport. A Tunisian diplomatic delegation went to a border locality in Thailand in order to speak with the local authorities, the representatives of the army as well as the officials of the Thai Foreign Ministry, with a view to ensuring the smooth running of the operation.

This repatriation was facilitated by the cooperation of the Thai authorities and the competition of several diplomatic missions present in Jakarta, in addition to the logistical support of the armed and security for the region.
