The Minister of Tourism, Sofiane Tekaya, chaired, on April 16, 2025, a national conference dedicated to new specifications framing alternative tourist accommodation: campsites, guest houses, rural accommodation and family reception.
Organized with government representatives, public institutions, private sector, media and civil society, the meeting made it possible to present these texts in a participatory approach aimed at simplifying procedures, encouraging investment and responding to current economic and social realities.
The Minister recalled that several structures recently encountered difficulties, requiring intervention by the President of the Republic to enable them to continue their activity. This ordered the development of new, more flexible and adapted regulatory frameworks.
With nearly 2,000 establishments, alternative tourism represents a strategic lever to diversify the Tunisian offer. The ministry calls for actors not yet regularized to declare themselves, announcing the upcoming publication of a calendar of the steps to follow.
