In an operation qualified as “historic”, the National Guard announced, this Friday, April 19, 2025, the dismantling of a vast international drug trafficking network. More than a million Ecstasy tablets have been seized, for a value exceeding 40 million dinars.
The announcement was made on the official Facebook page of the National Guard, a support video, highlighting the details of a large -scale operation carried out in the governorate of Nabeul.
This intervention is part of the national strategy for combating organized crime, including drug trafficking. It was on the basis of information provided by the Directorate of Investigations and Intelligence that the intervention units were able to launch their action.
After several months of spinning and investigative, the police managed to identify and challenge several members of the criminal group. Nearly 1,200,000 tablets have been seized, as well as several luxury cars used for drug transport, in addition to a substantial sum of money, the same source said.
The authorities are continuing the investigations. Prosecutions have been initiated for importing, drug trafficking, mediation and money laundering.
